Helpful links, advice and guidelines for those intending to perform in any capacity at BCRF

BCRF Yahoo Group

Like Myspace Yahoo Groups is a community and many of the ren performers that frequent Renfests as well as attendees (Rennies) build communities on YahooGroups. After visiting us we recommend that you do a search in order to find Renfest communities.

BCRF MySpace

As a 'friends' community many of the ren performers that frequent Renfests have been linked to this myspace page. We also suggest you do a MySpace searching order to find more.
There are also MySpace Groups that discuss the festivals and performances at the festivals.

 

Renfest Actors and Performers

To start: Searches are incredible things: Do searches on YouTube, MySpace, flickr, and any other video or image hosting webpages. Using words like Renaissance, Renfest, Faire, Fair, Festival, and any other interested features for yourself. Examples: magic, magix, juggle, fire, sword, dance, joke, comedy, audience participation. Take advantage of AND & OR searches as well as " features as they can yield quicker results.

This is just a small example of some of the performers you find at various Renfests. Many of these began their careers as volunteer performers who now, are making careers out off the performances they have experimented with on the festival circuit.

 

Renfest Reports

Since the most important thing to a performer is the audience seeing what Rennies (or just attendees) post on their pages (in photos and video, etc.) as that tells you what they favour and/or really liked. In the case of some reports you can read what they didn't like at all and why. We encourage you to do searches renaissance festival reports, pictures, photos, images, video, etc. Once more many people have Myspace accounts (or Flikr, or you tube, or live journals, or..) and post their best and worst experiences. Take advantage of that and use it as knowledge. To get you started here is a few 'Rennie' pages.

There are PLENTY more where those came from and a number of different webrings to look through. A number of Rennies also have Yahoo Groups and Myspace groups that they have established a space for them to talk about their need of the Faire. Read, view, enjoy.
