Kensington Festival 2006
Written by: Christina Carr
This was our second year at this local Burnaby Festival. The previous year was slow and was only staffed by Martin and I so pictures and video was none existence but this year we had a plethora of characters joining in on the festivities.
Once more the organisers of this festival were there for their audience and their venders. When they ran out of veggie patties and discovered that three of us could not eat wheat, they sent one of their own out on a errand in order to guarantee that we could have some food in our bellies. A very nobel gesture and well received.
The new canopy again proved that it was the wisest purchase we could have made. Sturdy and basic it stood up to all the abuse we put it through. The rescued greyhounds were there and two of our members took advantage of the opportunity and pose with these wonderful animals. Once I find the link to their webpage it will be listed here. Their support for these incredible pups is wonderful.. Not to mention that they look so right with the Nobility. It seems that, where ever we go, we constantly find appropriate creatures for at least one of our characters. It does make me wonder what we are in store for at the next event.
This entry is short as we are gearing up for VCON and wrapping up TLAP. We look forward to meeting more people as we attend various events and functions.
