Talk Like A Pirate Day 2007 |

2007 Pre-Festival |

Parades, Rehearsals and Planning. 2007 was filled with non-stop work. Everything from planning the fights, reheasrsing both script and fights, having regular meetings and making sure everything is covered. Our first year turned into an adventure beyond compare! |
||||
2007 saw two of our people taking part in a Medieval theme, 'In The House' Event. These are in Quicktime Format so click Below for the video |
Our 1st two Parades saw our group honoured with 2 ribbons (Fort Langley May Day) and tested our patience with the mother nature (rained for Langley Township parade). The second parade was also the first time we used some of our swordplay in public. Rain or shine we perform!!!

Rehearsals also test our patience with Mother Nature but we plug onward and forward. This slideshow includes general rehearsals, rehearsal in our 'Aldergrove' space and the dress rehearsal. |
Canada Day in Steveston!! A long hot day BUT a great turnout. Not only was the audience pumped but we had a new fight for Cobbs and The Captain, improved more character experiences and most of the pirates stayed behind to ham it up as well as hit dinner and a drink before heading home. We got sooo much video that it was hard to edit. |

Technically we began making the world aware of BC Renfest in 2004 with our one day visit to a Whiterock school in order to do photos in the stocks. Back then we had an idea to get the entertainment world working in a direction they had not really explored yet. Since then we have hit the world with ideas and thoughts that are catching on as well as providing us with something to be proud of.
In 2006 we hit as many parades and festivals as we could. Taking pictures of people in the stocks, posing for pictures, kicking up the energy during lulls in the entertainment and 'pestering'.. I mean approaching unexpecting souls in order to hand out our flyers and talk about the project.

Whiterock introduced us to the children who are learning about where some of our own culture comes from.
Hat's Off Day was our first parade as we joined in with Taz comics for the day.
Sea Vancouver gave us plenty of fresh air and an opportunity to dress as pirates for the first time.
Lynn Valley parade was kept lively by Freddy Fudpucker and was the beginning of the present team.
And.. We can't forget our frist Christmas Parade in Aldergrove. A night time parade made it possible to walk by lantern light. Keeping the knights from rusting was another thing. ^_^
Do you have an event we should be aware of? Do you have images, video or an experience connected with our attendance at one of these festivals, fairs or outings? Please contact us. We would love to have copies.
If you think you have an event or activity that could take advantage of our people/idea/concept/skills.. then do contact us. We are constantly looking for chances to promote and find those we need in order to make this a reality.
Because I have combined the previous videos into one 'yearly' one and the original reports are now past (archived) I am including links here for some of the original videos. Click on title for the video, below that for the original report. Videos have been removed from the reports so they load fast (if you just want to read the reports). So for your enjoyment here is..... |
