With the sun beating down on us and the route shorter than Hats Off Day this VCon Parade entry was a blessing as well as a difficult one. Many of us got hotter then expected but not for long as the parade was short.. ish. We had a smaller variety in characters than we did at Hats Off Day but we managed to sort ourselves out into rows making the group easy to see and appreciate. Tiff's Teddy bear, cradled in Keith's 'paws', waved at all the teddy bears on the side of the route and a number of people got the chance to dodge a saber, practice a magic spell, and see an Elven arrow up close.

We were happy to find food and liquid waiting for us at our final destination (The Teddy Bear Picnic) and after well deserved substance and shade we headed into the picnic itself, shook hands with the young and old, posed for pictures and handed out flyers.

We found a few lost souls who had never heard of VCon as well as a few who had not known where the convention was as they had not been in a few years. We made sure they had all the information they needed and encouraged them to join us for the fun filled fan weekend known as VCon. We hope that a number of them will attend so we can greet them once more and say hi.
