VCon's First Parade entry, at Burnaby's Hats Off Day seems to have been a success. With the goal of promoting VCon's 31st convention various volunteers in costume and 'green support T-Shirts' braved possible horrid weather changes and paraded out onto Hastings with the rest of the ever growing Hats Off Day Parade entries.

The great variety in characters and fiction mediums made the entry a sight for delighted children's (at heart and in age) eyes. Susan, Lucy and Peter supported Tumnus when he needed it, Anime characters skipped (not walked) most of the route, The Feddies kept order while Vader defended himself against Jedi. Elf, Rohan and Hobbit, oh my, walked tall and proud while our MIB kept 'Fluffy The Alien' in check. History combined with the future and classic sci-fi bridged the gap.
